  1. My favorite quote: “I don’t want any of your lives.” Thanks for sharing this story again – loved seeing it even after reading it before.

    • Ha! That’s how I decide if I want to follow in someone’s footsteps or take their advice. Do I want their life? If not, no way.

  2. I’ve always wondered how you got started in this freelancing adventure. Congrats on your freelancaversary (did I spell that right?). I hope to get to that point someday where I’m my own full-time boss as well.

But honestly, I didn’t mind working a 9-to-5. What I didn’t like was working for companies staffed with people who clearly felt the only way to feel good about themselves was to make other folks’ lives miserable. I’m not sure you can escape working with people like that even as a freelancer because sometimes you don’t know until after you’re halfway through a project.

I digress. You did well for your first vlog post. I did my first video post too this week. But my vid is much shorter & I redid it 4 times before I was happy with it enough to post it. Perfectionist much? LOL!

    • That’s true that you’ll never escape working with nutbags and misery bringers unless you stop working. But as a freealancer, I have much more control over who I work with. Even if I’m halfway through the project, I can take note of the crazy and decide not to work with them again. Or I can decide that whatever annoying thing that happened is worth what I receive in return. Choice is always important to me.

Thanks for the compliment on my video post. I have to check yours out, too. You redid four times, huh? Well, I don’t know anything about that perfectionist gene. *Cough*

  3. Thanks for sharing your freelancaversary vlog. I appreciate the struggle you went through. I noticed a few similarities in my own career history.

For more years than I wish to admit, I sat in the cubicle knowing there was more to life than being “stuck” in the office for the next 35 years.

My worse day freelancing never equals the worst day I spent in the office.

Thanks again for sharing and congrats on your freelancaversary!

    • Thanks Chamois! (I am still so obsessed with your name!)
